Theory of Change

The organization’s core activity is Governance. To achieve this, PureAid is to conduct a progressive and strategic capacity building process for system strengthening to improve local leadership in developing communities by work with and providing technical, intellectual, and professional support to promote basic social services not limited to benefits and facilities such as education, agriculture, health care, child protection, emergency response, community management, research, awareness, mobilization, advocacy and fund raising. We use the “Child Safe Community Leadership Program”. Since most rural community development efforts aim to relieve causes or symptoms of poverty, it makes a difference which theory of poverty is believed to be responsible for the problem being addressed to identify key child abuse related issues. In this strategic plan, five theories of poverty are distilled from the research that significantly threating child protection services. Here are some factors forming the origin of poverty, and how they affect common policy discussion and community development programs aimed to address the causes of poverty:
  1. individual deficiencies,
  2. cultural belief systems that support subcultures in poverty,
  3. political-economic distortions,
  4. geographical disparities, or
  5. cumulative and circumstantial origins
Rationally, PAI is to turn community dwellers into potential and progressive project/program management body- a nonprofit style of workers for their own good to be practically orientated and conditionally taught governance on the job. With our partnership and community leadership capacity building approaches, we anticipate a higher outcome for child safety by creating a local community leadership system that is robustly responsive to protect the rights of children and prevent abuses and exploitations within their communities. We have conducted several trainings through the “Me & My Community Project” for community leadership system strengthening in West Africa- Liberia and Sierra Leone to ensure child safety is a top priority.
